Goals House at London Climate Action Week

For the second year running, Goals House is at London Climate Action Week (LCAW), a week that showcases London as the leading example of how society can together shape and drive climate action.

Yesterday, the Sustainable Cities Panel, co-hosted by C40, Google, and Bupa, discussed what is being done to create more sustainable urban environments, and how we can collectively build healthier, more resilient cities. The panellists all stressed the importance of cities as leading examples for how to create more sustainable communities. As Adam Elman, Head of Sustainability, Google EMEA, stated, “cities need to build business cases for infrastructure changes”.

Following the panel, C40 hosted a reception with remarks from the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. The reception was a unique opportunity to bring together the C40 network to discuss what is being done to tackle these twin crises and focus on what further policy changes can be initiated to champion climate action in cities and lead change.

The evening ended with an intimate dinner, hosted by Holcim with the COP28 Climate Action Champions Team, The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, ReLondon, and QFlow. The conversation built on the day’s dialogue of collaborating for a circular and digital built environment.
